What do you need to know about Federal changes to prepare for the coming year? Here’s how we think some of these changes will play out.

  1. If you have an existing contract that gets terminated for convenience, document all your expenses for closing out the contract, including personnel layoff expenses, unsalable inventory, legal expenses, relocation expenses, and file a claim.
  2. If you sell commonly-used products and services to the government – office supplies, furniture, vehicles and parts, IT/network equipment, medical items – and don’t have a GSA supply schedule contract, you should probably get one.
  3. Anticipate that the COs you’ve been dealing with may be moving, geographically and even to a different agency or bureau.
  4. Standard order quantities may decline, due to reduced staffing, building and grounds areas, etc.
  5. More services may be contracted out, since staff levels are shrinking.

We haven’t seen the number of RFPs decline yet so there are plenty of opportunities to bid on. BC2Match highlights the opportunities that fit your profile, and puts them on your dashboard early every morning.
