Use the Keyword tool to narrow your search and find better opportunities

Have you ever wondered if you could search government contract opportunities by skillset or other keywords within NAICS codes? After all, your skillsets for opportunities may span across many NAICS codes. Although NAICS codes help businesses find government contracts, a business needs to be registered with the NAICS code to compete for the contract, so you might be missing opportunities within a NAICS code.

With BC2Match, you can search opportunities by keywords within NAICS codes. Our Keyword Search tool thus helps you narrow your search and see opportunities ranked with your specific skillset. Here’s how the Keyword Search tool works for Federal contract matching.

  1. Sign up for a free 7-day trial or log into your account if you are a BC2Match member
  2. Go to My Profile
  3. Enter your NAICS code(s)
  4. Next, enter your keywords
  5. Go to My Federal Dashboard and view your matches

Let’s look at this with a possible scenario. You’re a data reporting company that builds data visualization dashboards for government agencies. You enter the following NAICS codes in your profile:

  • 541430 – Graphic Design Services
  • 541511 – Custom Computer Programming
  • 541519 – Other Computer Related Services
  • 541910 – Marketing Research and Public Opinion Polling

You are registered for 541430 and 541511 and so you add 541519 and 541910. You also want to narrow your focus around data visualization and real-time reporting, so you enter “data visualization” and “real-time” as keywords. You go to “My Federal Dashboard” to view the matches, and you see matches for opportunities within the four NAICS codes. This can help you decide if you need to register for additional NAICS codes to pursue more contracts.
